We built this because the tools researchers actually use for publication-quality figures cost $400+/year per seat, gate features behind higher tiers, and treat the individual scientist like a procurement target. Postdocs and grad students — the people doing the work — end up paying out of pocket or losing hours wrestling with Illustrator.

The editor is and will remain free. We make money in two places:

• An AI figure-generation agent — $20/seat/mo — for researchers who want to describe a scene and have it drafted. Optional, off by default.
• Enterprise — for institutions and pharma companies who need SSO, audit logs, on-premise deployment, and compliance-grade support.

Everything else — the editor, the primitive library, collaborative workspaces, exports — is genuinely free. No trial, no seat limits, no dark patterns.
